Alessio La Francesca was crowned champion of the 2026 WSOP Online $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship on September 14. The Albania-based Italian defeated Elias Suhonen heads-up to secure the title, the $316,037 first-place prize, and a $30,000 Super Pass to the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event.

The online tournament was played at GGPoker and attracted 1,514 entrants. Suhonen, from Finland, finished second for $243,696, while Mexico’s Patrick Brooks took third for $187,915.

From 46 players to a nine-player final table

Day 2 began with 46 players still in contention. The field was then reduced to a nine-player final table, with Austria’s “Jokee90” finishing just outside that group.

La Francesca entered the closing stage alongside Suhonen, Brooks, Marty “dadneedsit” Mathis, Vinicius “DaddysRun” Escossi, Artur Berg, Gustavo Pinto, Anton Silyavko, and Gwn Accepteren.

The final-table payouts reflected the depth of the field. Mathis finished fourth for $144,092, Escossi placed fifth for $111,735, and Berg collected $86,159 in sixth. Gustavo Pinto earned $66,438 for seventh, Silyavko received $51,231 for eighth, and Accepteren completed the final table in ninth for $39,504.

A first bracelet after a near miss in Rozvadov

The victory gave La Francesca his first WSOP bracelet. His previous listed WSOP result came at the 2025 WSOP Europe festival in Rozvadov, where he finished 11th in the €2,000 No-Limit Hold’em Monsterstack bracelet event.

That result placed him close to the final-table stage without producing a bracelet. The 2026 online championship went further, with La Francesca completing the tournament in first place after the field began with more than 1,500 entrants.

The title also earns a Super Main Event place

La Francesca’s final opponent was Suhonen, whose runner-up finish earned $243,696. The championship payout was accompanied by the $30,000 Super Pass, which provides La Francesca with a place in the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event.

The result delivered La Francesca’s first WSOP bracelet along with a qualification opportunity tied to the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event. The confirmed prize for the championship was $316,037.
