These push and fold ranges are provided as an educational reference. Actual decisions may change based on antes, stack distribution, tournament pressure and opponent tendencies.

What Is the Push or Fold Matrix?

The Push or Fold Matrix is a study tool for short-stack preflop decisions.

Select the table format, your position and your effective stack to view which starting hands belong to the displayed push range and which hands should usually be folded under the selected assumptions.

How to Use the Tool?

Choose the table size, position and stack depth before reviewing the matrix.

Find your starting hand in the grid. Pocket pairs appear on the diagonal, suited hands appear above the diagonal and offsuit hands appear below it.

Hands marked as Push are included in the displayed range. Hands marked as Fold are outside that range.

How to Read the Results?

The percentage shown by the tool represents the portion of all possible starting-hand combinations included in the push range.

A wider percentage means more hands are included. A smaller percentage represents a tighter range.

The matrix is a strategic reference based on the selected situation. It does not guarantee a result and may change when the table conditions, action before you or tournament structure are different.

What Should You Learn?

Focus on how position and stack depth affect the range.

Later positions generally allow wider ranges because fewer players remain behind. As the effective stack changes, the value of high cards, pairs, suited hands and weaker combinations can also change.

The main goal is to recognize range patterns rather than memorize every individual square.
