TLDR

CoinPoker’s first Global Online Poker Championship paid out $88.44 million across 6,321 tournaments from August 23 through September 28. The series drew 2,122,920 entries from 48,815 players across 172 countries, exceeding its $50 million guarantee by 77%. The next scheduled event, The One, begins October 4 with a $5 million guarantee.

CoinPoker’s inaugural Global Online Poker Championship has concluded after five weeks of tournament play. The series distributed $88.44 million, well above its combined guarantee, with participation spread across a broad international field.

The total came from 6,321 tournaments and 2,122,920 entries. CoinPoker recorded 48,815 unique players from 172 countries, giving the series a substantial online footprint beyond its headline events.

Prize Pools Outpaced the $50 Million Guarantee

The championship was built around a combined $50 million guarantee. Its final payout figure reached $88.44 million, an excess of 77% over the guaranteed amount. Eight individual events produced prize pools above $1 million.

The $530 Main Event attracted 7,414 entries and created a prize pool of more than $3.7 million. The tournament ended with “siema” taking first place for $423,606.

The series also included weekly CoinMillion tournaments, each carrying a $1 million guarantee. The final CoinMillion event concluded with a three-way deal. “TheKingOfCatrupe” received $80,896, while “FiveEighteen” collected $89,872 for second place and “iamunderyourbed” received $91,757 for third.

High-Roller Results Included Two Seven-Figure Pools

The $25,500 Super High Roller Championship drew 51 entries and generated a $1.27 million prize pool. “Trance” won the event for $397,035.

The $1,500 CoinMasters BTC High Roller attracted 1,149 entries and awarded “PistolWhip” $300,025. CoinPoker ambassador Mario Mosböck finished seventh in that tournament.

These results placed the series’ buy-in range across several distinct parts of the online tournament schedule, from the $530 Main Event to the $25,500 Super High Roller Championship. The prize pools above $1 million came from eight separate events rather than a single tournament.

Podium Race and Opening Events Produced Separate Winners

“agustinverna” won the overall Podium Race with 117 points and ten gold medals. The leaderboard competition provided a separate measure of performance from the individual tournament results.

The opening ceremony also produced a notable low buy-in result. “Ddango” progressed from a $0.55 entry step to a second-place finish worth $14,114.

At the other end of the schedule, the final CoinMillion event was decided by a three-way agreement. The different payout figures reflect the deal rather than the pre-deal first-place amount of $125,913.

The One Follows on October 4

CoinPoker’s next annual event, The One, is scheduled to begin October 4 with a $250 buy-in and a $5 million guarantee. The event also carries a guaranteed $1 million payout for the winner.

Day 1 flights are scheduled three times daily from October 4 through October 11, followed by two turbo flights before Day 2 on October 12. Satellites connected with the event carry more than 3,000 guaranteed seats in total, with entry routes starting from $1.

CoinPoker says The One will feature the largest single-tournament prize pool in its history. Its schedule follows directly after the close of the Global Online Poker Championship, giving the operator another large guaranteed event on the calendar.
